Observing the Overlooked

Print Collection

‘Observing the Overlooked’ features the shapes, patterns, and textures that are often overlooked within the urban settings of Plymouth. The harsh, flat environment from the city centre, and the smooth, soft environment of the waterfront contrast with each other, often being missed and overlooked by the tourists and population, leading myself to wonder how different the two areas are in terms of architectural design.

The collection has been designed and screen printed in mind for both interior and fashion markets, using heavy weight fabrics like linens and cottons for interior ideas, contrasting with the fluidity of the silks for more fashion outcomes. By investigating the idea of layering and experimentation of different binder / printing techniques, the collection has gained a geometric and graphic style with unintentional imperfections occurring during the printing process.
